One year at a slow pace
The end of the year is always time to take stock, and if we look at what shows the odometer of our bikes that we can not be very pleased to note how far we have, and how much we saved to our car. - we have gained a bit of cycling on Lungodora is now officially used by bike;
- and with our example, using the bike every day, we probably also infected someone else. Maybe it's just an impression, but bicycles around town seems to see a few more. And to increase the number of cyclists we have to keep more and better with the promotion, which runs primarily through the outputs of monthly Critical Mass, the most fun there is to do a bike ride in company through the streets of the city!

After the sleigh ride with Santa Claus, after eating and drinking at lunch and dinner with family and friends, we go back on our bikes, we tie on the rack panettone and the bottle of champagne , turn on all the lights we have and let's celebrate the end of 2010 and to exchange best wishes for the new year!
We will, as usual, the Tower of St. Stephen at 18:00 , we'll do a little 'holiday with us and we will do our ride together through the streets of downtown!

Per l'amministrazione comunale erano presenti, oltre agli Assessori Codato (Mobilità) e Dallan (Ambiente), anche il Mobility Manager e due funzionari dell'Ufficio Tecnico di Ivrea che si occupano di progetti di ciclopedonalità e di arredo urbano.
Lo scopo era quello di fare il punto della situazione rispetto agli interventi a sostegno della ciclopedonalità che l'Amministrazione di Ivrea si era impegnata a fare in occasione del Convegno sulla mobilità sostenibile organizzato da Legambiente nel giugno dello scorso anno.

Ieri pomeriggio si è svolto l'incontro pubblico promosso dall'Amministrazione Comunale per presentare il progetto di nuova viabilità relativo ad una parte del quartiere San Lorenzo di Ivrea. Rendere queste vie a senso unico otterrebbe anche il vantaggio di aumentare leggermente la sicurezza negli attraversamenti che la ciclabile avrebbe con esse.

The project is presented by the City we have a path that leads to half-way Strusiglia! You all know Strusiglia away, right? You all know what is safe and pleasant for those who ride. Yes, yesterday afternoon they told us that the first section of the street Strusiglia, towards the Corso Vercelli, will finally have a sidewalk on the side facing the lawn, but then what? As a Strusiglia, right in the middle, there is a bottleneck against a house, and right there in front of you wants to go out in the lane? Why Coming from San Giovanni or Bollengo, or those coming from Cascinette should squeeze into the narrow passage to go and take the lane? Of course, someone will do, but I believe the majority will continue to walk away or Cascinette Corso Vercelli.

The Mayor explained the project, there have been some work on a De Gasperi that resulted in a scratch asphalting of the road and, before proceeding with the ritracciatura lanes and car parks, the administration would like to take this' opportunity to make some changes.
In particular, the project aims to streamline all parking in via De Gasperi in order to get a space to dedicate to a bike path . This would travel the entire route a partire dall'Azienda di Promozione Turistica e giù fino alla Scuola della Fiorana. Passerebbe poi a fianco della scuola e proseguendo dritto andrebbe a sbucare a metà di via Strusiglia.
Inoltre, al fine di disincentivare il traffico di attraversamento, ma anche per offrire un maggior numero di posti auto attirando a parcheggiare lì coloro che invece parcheggiano malamente sul marciapiede di via Cascinette, tutte le vie che intersecano via De Gasperi diventerebbero anche loro a senso unico, alcune in una direzione e alcune nell'altra.
Rendere queste vie a senso unico otterrebbe anche il vantaggio di aumentare leggermente la sicurezza negli attraversamenti che la ciclabile avrebbe con esse.

To illustrate the proposed changes viability in terms of road safety of the residents in the street between Via Cascinette, Corso Vercelli Via Fermi and organized a public meeting to be held Monday, October 18, 2010 at 18.00 in the meeting room of the Tourist Promotion Agency Canavese , Corso Vercelli, 1.
By prayer spread. The municipal administration
is a magnificent opportunity to inspect the project before it is implemented, and to report any problems or possible improvements from our point of view. It is therefore very important that we participate in so many at this meeting.

E così, nonostante le preoccupanti previsioni meteo, domenica 3 Ottobre il gazebo di Massa Critica Ivrea faceva la sua bella figura a Sana Terra, la fiera dell'economia solidale e sostenibile di Ivrea. Compatibilmente con la giornata, purtroppo a tratti piovigginosa, l'affluenza del pubblico è stata discreta e abbiamo avuto modo di contattare tanta gente e di fare un po' di pubblicità initiatives that we continue for months to promote the use of bicycles in the city.
